The World of Warcraft movie has experienced an unintended setback. CraveOnline WoTLK Gold caught up with Spider-Man Director Sam Raimi at Comic-Con last week. There, the director confirmed that he was no longer attached to the film that is based on Blizzard's hugely multiplayer online role-playing game due to his involvement in Oz: The Great and Powerful. Raimi is out as director of the World of Warcraft film director.
"Actually they're not hiring me to direct World of Warcraft anymore, since when I accepted the Oz position, they had to move on to another director," Raimi said. "They needed to begin making the game."
There was no mention about the possibility of replacing Raimi as the World of Warcraft film director. At press time, Blizzard hasn't responded to P2Pah's request of comment.
The World of Warcraft movie was first announced in the year 2006. The announcement was made in 2006 and Blizzard said that its goal was to create "one of the most exciting films in the world." In 2009. Raimi made an official announcement to directthe film, and later in the year, Saving Private Ryan scribe Robert Rodat was named the film's writer. In 2010. Raimi provided more information about the film, noting that he has a 40-page draft that "needs lots of work."
"We're uncovering the characters and through them, we're discovering the story cheap WoTLK Classic Gold. We're striving to create authentic characters that could live in The World of Warcraft , as as if you were actually in the game itself," he told me when he was at that time.
